There is an Italian saying that goes, una buona mamma vale cento maestre (a good mother is worth a hundred teachers)...
You may not have an Italian mamma, but we can teach you to make pasta like one!
On Sunday, September 20th, our Culinary Director Phil Scarfone and pastaio Stephano will be passing on their traditional pasta making techniques in a casual in house demo at the La Tana pasta fresca table. From the best products and essential tools to the perfect sauce accompaniment for any given noodle, the second instalment of our pasta making demo series is an interactive opportunity for inspired home cooks to ask questions and learn from the professionals; and to take home a new skill, not to mention some 00 flour or that first mattarello.
In addition to sharing his recipe for both egg & semolina dough, chef will be stocking the case with balls of his own freshly made pasta dough as well as a variety of hand made noodles to take home ~ a less involved way to savour this simple pleasure by leaving the heavy rolling to us.
Throughout the day, the kitchen will put out some lovely fresh pasta small plates to sample, compliments of the house; and we’ll be serving Aperol Spritz, negroni, white wine and Peroni to sip during the demo or outside on our sidewalk patio.
Drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm ~ no previous pasta making experience necessary and no reservations required. All are welcome!
