Carbonara Recipe Kit – Serves 4

Available for pickup after 11am on the date selected.

Carbonara is characterized by zesty cured pork, salty cheese, and a silky egg emulsion. Though its origins are fuzzy, it achieved popularity near the end of the Second World War with Allied troops supplying Italian cities with rations of bacon and eggs.

Select your pasta from dried spaghetti or bucatini.

Ingredients Panetta, Maple Hill Farms Organic eggs, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, black pepper.

Cook your fresh or freshly frozen pasta in just a few simple steps.
First, simply bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over medium to high heat. Be sure to add a generous amount of salt as this will help to season the pasta and add flavour.

Once the water has reached a rolling boil, gently drop the fresh pasta into the pot.

Gently stir the pasta right away to ensure it doesn’t stick together.

Your cooking time will depend on the thickness of your pasta but in general it will take between 2 and 4 minutes to cook all the way through. When the pasta is done, remove it from the boiling water and serve with your favourite sauce.
